On Tuesday night, Madison hosted a basketball game against their long-time rivals TCA. The fans were waiting in anticipation as the starting line-ups of the team were being announced. This being the last game of the regular season, both teams wanted to end it by making the final statement.

During the girls’ game, both teams fought hard to come out on top. Madison played effectively the whole game, but had their best performance in the fourth quarter. Through teamwork and great coaching, Madison was able to maintain the lead. Angela Tharpe scored an impressive 20 points to lead the Lady Mustangs in their charge to victory. The final score was Lady Mustangs 56, Trinity Lions 48.

As for the boys game, there was definitely animosity shown throughout the game. Trinity got off to a good start, but Madison’s defense picked up and put them back in the game. Over the second and third quarters, Trinity’s offense from outside gave them a huge advantage. Near the middle of the third quarter, fatigue started to set in on both sides. Dylan Pittman, who started at the forward position, took an injury to the knee, which put more weight on the center Chandler Pittman, who had only been resting on the bench for a few minutes.

During the fourth quarter, the Mustangs fought hard but could not overcome the Lions due to exhaustion. The top scorer was McCarty Maxwell with 14 points, and Chandler had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. In the end, Trinity ended up winning 57 to 44. Even though it was a disappointing loss, the guys showed great sportsmanship in the way they handled it.
