Niree French, Miss Madison 2012

Pageants are a chance for ladies to show their beauty and talents. On February 13, 2012, in Madison Academic High School’s historic auditorium, the Miss Madison pageant was held. 15 beautiful girls competed for the title of Miss Madison 2012. As they entered from the doubled doors of the auditorium, everyone could tell that they were nervous and excited. All the ladies had on unique shirts designed by Mrs. Doyle’s Art IV class. The ladies all showed off their pageant moves by performing an opening dance. Destinee Boyd, junior, states “The dance was fun and very fast paced at the same time.”

The girls then all hurriedly changed into their unique outfits and let their personality speak through their clothes.  Kvyn Brooks sported red, flare legged pants, a black blazer, and nude and red BCBG heels. All together the ladies looked beautiful but in completely different styles.
The time finally came to see the girls all dressed up and in their finest gowns. The different colors and sparkling sequins kept the audience interested as each contestant did her very poised pageant walk. When this was completed, the top 5 were chosen. The top 5 were Kvyn Brooks, Ashley Williams, Heather Burkeen, Niree French, and Aneesa Sood. The top 5 all answered questions chosen from a beautifully designed question holder. As they spoke, all anyone could do was anticipate in their seats who they thought would win the grand title of Miss Madison 2012. Before the results were scored, the reigning Miss Madison, Josselyn Bustillo , did a final walk and talked about her experience as 2011 Miss Madison.

The time finally came and the results were in: Miss Photogenic, Niree French; Miss Congeniality, Ekene Tharpe; 3rd place sponsorship, Peyton Tharpe; 2nd place sponsorship, Jatasia Fuller; 1st place sponsorship, Niree French; 4th Runner-up, Heather Burkeen; 3rd Runner-up, Aneesa Sood; 2nd Runner-up, Kvyn Brooks; 1st Runner-up, Ashley Williams, and the 2012 Miss Madison, Niree French. She was very excited, especially when it was just between her and Ashley. Congratulations to Niree French and all the girls who competed for Miss Madison 2012.
