Will the World End in 2012?

The theory of the world ending in 2012 is a hot topic of the newly beginning year.  Scientists base this theory on the Mayan calendar and the fact that the 5,126 year calendar runs out this year.  As time goes on other scientists are disproving this theory though.  These new scientists are using physical things in nature and science to prove the theory incorrect.

I do not think the world will come to an end in 2012.  I believe that it is no more than an idea in someone’s head that has spread to the minds of others.  There have been many others that had their own date that the world would end, but time after time, those “world ending” dates were wrong, and we are still here.

Until the actual end of time, there will be theories concerning when the world will end, so until the world actually ends it will remain a mystery to us.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if they are completely wrong.  I personally think that people come up with these predictions for the end of the world to gain attention and fame.  It seems to me we’re all left waiting for the end.
